Deanna Christine Solter, 67, of Conway Springs, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023 at her home.
She was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Wichita, the daughter of Jack Lee Solter and Patricia Ann (Wagner) Solter. Chrissy attended elementary school in both Wichita and Conway Springs. She graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1974.
Chrissy was united in marriage to Theodore Mathias Stuhlsatz on Jan. 11, 1975, and to this union three children were born. They made their home in Conway Springs.
Chrissy later attended Vernon’s School of Cosmetology in Wichita. She owned and operated her own salon known as Hairs To You for a number of years in Conway Springs, and later worked in data code entry Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation in Wichita.
Chrissy was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Even in the face of her own struggles, Chrissy remained a steadfast friend and confidant to everyone she knew and was a well-known fixture in the community for close to 50 years. She started various youth programs, participated in Project Prom, community theater, and could always be counted on to bake some goodies or donate a handmade craft for a fundraiser.
She was preceded in death by her daddy and one infant son, Theodore Mathias “Teddy” Stuhlsatz, Jr.
Chrissy is survived by two daughters, Jill Osner (Brent) of Conway Springs, and Janet Probst (Dave) of Alexandria, Va.; her mother, Pat Solter of Conway Springs; two brothers, Jack Solter, Jr. (Tammy) of Conway Springs, and David Solter (Brenda) of Choctaw, Okla.; 11 grandchildren:, Tyler (Amy), Sammie, Zach, Derek, Jacob, Logan, Justin (Rian), Heather, and Sadie; five great-grandchildren, Reese, Natalie, Damian, Aviana, and baby Jerry; and a number of other relatives and dear friends.
A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, with Father Kyle Dugan as celebrant. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
