ARGONIA – Members of the Salter House Museum in Argonia have begun the new year with many activities going on.
Members of Sumner County Economic Development visited the Salter House Museum on Jan. 11. Joslyn Heersche, administrative assistant, brought a leadership class to Argonia to eat at Sarah Jane’s before touring the museum. SCEDC conducts a leadership class annually where members meet once a month for eight months. They chose to visit Argonia for the month of January.
The exterior of the Salter House Museum is undergoing repairs for chimney leaks and exterior wall cracking. A local construction company will be starting the repair work as soon as weather permits.
Members of the museum are planning their fourth annual Spuds N Stuff meal. It will take place on March 4, at the Argonia Community Center. Hours will be 5-7 p.m.
A potato bar, desserts and beverages will be served. Adult meals are $10, with children 10 and under $5. If you wear your Salter House shirt, you will receive a $2 discount.
Tickets will be sold by members for a hand-made quilt that will be on display at Sarah Jane’s. Other prizes will be included in the raffle.
Members are also selling 2023 birthday/anniversary calendars for $10. If you haven’t received your calendar yet, contact one of the members. Also, if you are interested in taking a tour of the Salter House Museum, please contact one of the members to schedule a date.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Salter House Museum, the next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Methodist Church basement.
