Virginia (Hartman) Ray, 73, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Reeds Cove Health and Rehabilitation, Wichita.
Virginia was born Sept. 9, 1949, to Clyde and Andrea (Small) Hartman and grew up on the family farm near Conway Springs. She graduated from Conway Springs High School in 1967 and received her nursing degree in Colorado. Her son, Joseph Shane, was born July 10, 1969.
Virginia married James Ray on April 27, 1989. They made their home in Highlands Ranch, Colo. Virginia moved to Goddard in 2010, and worked for Envision in Wichita until her retirement in 2019.
She was preceded in death by parents; son, Joseph Shane; brother, Danny Hartman; and husband, James Ray.
Virginia is survived by her siblings, David Hartman of Bandera, Texas, Jeanette (David) Graves of Tulsa, Okla., Thomas (Kathleen) Hartman of Wichita, Kathleen (Art) Bryan of Wichita, and Stan (Cheri) Hartman of Wichita; cousin, Peggy Barth of Wichita; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and many beloved friends.
Rosary will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m., both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs. Online condolences and guestbook are available at www.ebersolemortuary.com.
Memorials have been established with Envision, providing services for the blind and visually impaired, or ASPCA.
