Stanley Dean Woolf was born on the family farm outside of Cheney, Kan., on March 1, 1938, and died surrounded by his family at the Cheney Golden Age Home on Jan. 9, 2023.
Stanley graduated from Cheney High School in 1956 and married his high school sweetheart, Darlene M. Zerener, on Jan. 2, 1957. They were married 50 years before Darlene’s passing in 2007.
Stanley was a lifelong farmer, builder and contractor. He was dedicated to his family and loved helping wherever and whenever he was needed. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends. Stanley was a long-time member of the Midian Shriners.
Stanley will be remembered for his happy and grateful nature and his constant love and support for his family.
Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, and his parents, Charles and Grace (Anderson) Woolf. He is survived by his children, Vaughn (Lynn) Woolf and Michael Woolf; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Jeremiah; his brothers, Gordon (Peggy) Woolf, Melvin (Peggy) Woolf and Allen (Rosanne) Woolf; and nieces and nephews.
Stanley will be buried in a private ceremony at the Fairview Cemetery in Cheney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Midian Shriners, the Cheney Golden Age Home or Country Care Hospice.
