Sheryl L. (Oller) Wood, 73, of Conway Springs, formerly of Newkirk, Okla., passed away, Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at home.
Sheryl was born at Winfield on Jan. 1, 1949, to Boyd and Luetta (Jones) Oller. She was reared in Winfield and attended Winfield public schools.
Sheryl married Glenn R. Wood on April 8, 1989, in Mayfield. They made their home in Wellington before moving to Newkirk. They celebrated 20 years of marriage before his death on June 16, 2009.
Sheryl worked for Plessy in Wellington for several years, and then for Textron Aviation in Wichita. She retired from First Council Casino in Newkirk.
Sheryl also was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Edward Oller; and brother-in-law, Joe Powell.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (David) Hutley of Topeka, and Cammie (Jody) Hartman of Conway Springs; four grandchildren, Andrew (Laci) Villa of Winfield, Kaylee (Dominic) Mercer of Conway Springs, Katelyn (Chris) Sage of Clearwater, and Garrett Hartman of Delafield, Wisc.; two sisters, Joan (Robert) Acridge of Winfield, and Janie Powell of Ponca City, Okla.; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, in Austin Cemetery, Anson. Inurnment will follow in Austin Cemetery.
