HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council made fast work of its year-end business at the last meeting of 2022, held on Dec. 29.
The council, with five members present, took just six minutes to wrap up its financial affairs for the year. The first action taken was to approve the minutes from the regular monthly meeting on Dec. 12.
Next came approval of proposed utility bill write-offs. Staff indicated that a total of $1,380.18 was uncollectible and the council agreed.
December expenditures were received and filed. Council members also approved year-end encumbrances totaling $2,679,541.86.
Finally, the council approved reimbursement of the city’s petty cash on Dec. 30 and authorized payment of any unanticipated invoices dated in 2022 but not received until after year’s end.
The first council meeting of 2023 will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at City Hall.
