CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council had a light agenda for its meeting on Nov. 22.
The council voted unanimously to annex the house at 8030 S. Butterfly Street.
Administrator Courtney Zollinger reported that Waste Connections’ “extra bag” pickup service has been reduced to five bags instead of 10. Starting Jan. 1, the city will no longer pay for the additional pickup. She also noted that Waste Connections has informed the city that recyclable materials need to be placed inside recycle bins; any bags outside of the bin will not be picked up.
Chiropractor Karl May spoke during the public forum period, expressing concern about access to parking in front of his clinic during public events, including the annual Halloween and Christmas celebrations. These events are held in the evening, but May said he considers his clinic a 24/7 facility. After the meeting, Zollinger noted that sidewalk access to businesses on Ross Avenue is still available during events, and that parking is available at the west end of Ross.
The council’s final meeting of 2022 will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
