Classic musical coming to CHS

CLEARWATER – A classic Broadway musical will be performed this weekend at Clearwater High School.
Students will stage “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on Saturday and Sunday. The show features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Show times are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $7 per person. Clearwater students are admitted free.
Cast members include Danielle Brown, Izzy Buchman, Damon Donaldson, Eli Winter, Tate Smith, Kendyll Ankerholz, Gabe Parker, Christian Allmond, Carlie Schill, Hayden Graves, Lucas Bullard, Rachel Pierce, Emily Merseal, D.J. Madsen, Jacob Wilson, Eli Winter, Adyanna Hibbs, Abbie Hammingh, Kalea Gooch, Amelia Horbelt, Kirra Jewett and McKenzie Kiel.
The student director is Kalea Gooch, stage manager is Zach Schauf, and house manager is Gage Hunt. Other crew members include Kendyll Ankerholz, Danielle Brown, Christian Allmond, McKenzie Kiel, Curtis Whitley, Carlie Schill, Katheryan Karrick, Alivia Hanes, Sophie Lorenc, Will Thomas, Paul Zier and Nick Cleary.
The show, often referred to simply as “Joseph,” is a sung-through musical based on Joseph from the Book of Genesis. It debuted in Scotland in 1972, came to Broadway in 1982, has had multiple revivals, and was turned into a direct-to-video movie in 1999.
