Sumner County Extension to hold council election


The Sumner County Extension Council will old an election in late October.
The Sumner County Extension Council represents the citizens of Sumner County. Council
members are elected to two-year terms. They serve on the 24-member council and are responsible for working with the Sumner County Extension staff to develop and conduct educational programs in the areas of agriculture and natural resources, 4-H youth development, community development, and family and consumer sciences. Six members of the council serve on a program development committee for each of those program areas.
Each year at the council’s annual meeting, the 24 members elect an executive board to conduct the business of running the Extension programs along with its partner, Kansas State University.
This year’s election for the Sumner County Extension Council will be held from Monday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m.
The ballots will be cast at the Sumner County Extension Office, 320 N Jefferson Ave., Wellington.
