Driver injured in K-42 crash Monday

CLONMEL – A man was seriously hurt Monday morning in a single-vehicle accident on K-42 Highway just southwest of Clonmel.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Donald Rowson II was eastbound on K-42 when his Mack roll-off trash container truck suffered “a catastrophic tire blow out” on the driver’s side. The truck went left of the center line and overturned in the westbound lane. The accident occurred at milepost 75, about a quarter-mile southwest of 79th Street South.
Rowson, of Wichita, was taken to a Wichita hospital with potentially serious injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the KHP report.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, Sedgwick County Fire Department and Clearwater Fire Department were among the agencies to respond to the accident.
