Quilts honor Clearwater veterans

CLEARWATER – Ten veterans from the Clearwater area were recognized for their service last week as part of the annual Quilts of Valor.
The ceremony was held on July 12 at the First Baptist Church. The ceremony included a flag salute and a performance of the national anthem by Hadley Kraft.
This year’s honorees were Dennis Johnson, Darrell Mourning, Jon Bennett, Stanley Brady, Kenneth Ryan, Jerod Leddington, Andy Staton, Mary Staton, Chuck Barton and Sidney Wise.
The Ole Sew & Sews make the quilts for the veterans. The presentations were by members Jan Vogel, Nancy Girard, Becky Schievelbein, Kathy Simpson and Sandra Cummins-Biggs. Ima Kinkai handled food for the reception.

Ten Clearwater-area veterans were presented Quilts of Valor at a ceremony last week. The quilts were made by the members of the Old Sew & Sews.
