CLEARWATER – “The more that you read, the more things you know. The ore that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss.
A love of books and inspiring children to love them as well moved Jessica Warren to accept a part-time position with the Clearwater Public Library two years ago.
She started by working in the children’s department of the library. She did storytime for preschoolers and organized children’s activities.
“Last summer I started shadowing Tina Welch to be trained for the director position for her retirement,” said Warren. “Unfortunately, she became sick instead.”
Welched passed away on Jan. 30. Warren has now been named the director of the library.
Originally from Wichita, Warren moved to Viola approximately 10 years ago where she has raised her three children. She was a stay-at-home mother before her children started school. When her children all became school age, she decided to enter the work force. For now, her goals for the library are simple.
“I want to create a place for children and adults to feel welcomed and foster a love for reading,” said Warren.
