Justin Lee Stringer was born on Dec. 11, 1974, in Wellington to Daniel Stringer and Sandra (Hunt) Stringer. He graduated from Argonia High School in 1993. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington.
He married the love of his life, LaDonna Jenkins, on Dec. 25, 1992, in Argonia. Together they celebrated almost 30 years of marriage.
Justin was known as a family man, always making sure his wife, kids and grand babies were top priority and taken care of no matter what. In his spare time Justin enjoyed woodworking, R/C cars, hunting and fishing. Justin would do anything for anyone no matter what, he’d give the shirt off his back to make sure you had one.
Justin was a proud and passionate firefighter. He served 20-plus years helping protect the community. He loved Argonia. He also helped surrounding communities as much as possible or when called on.
On Feb. 9, 2022, Justin lost a long hard battle to cancer. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Ladonna Stringer; son, Charles Jenkins (Audrey) of Argonia; daughter, Kayla Stringer (David Wallace) of Argonia; grandchildren, Madison Jenkins, Grayson and Emerson Wallace; mother, Sandra Stringer of Alpharetta, Ga.; brother, Dale Stringer (Heather) of Warrensburg, Mo.; brothers, Bryan Stringer (Tiffiny) of Carthage, Mo., and Tony Stringer (Judy) of Wellington; sister, Janet Bingham (William) of Marietta, Ga.; step-brothers, Mark Braswell of Hereford, Ariz., Paul Braswell (Kerri) of Topeka, and Billy Braswell (Jeanie) of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and a lot of kids he thought of as his own. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Stringer; grandparents, J.N. and Elane Stringer; Harry and Louis Hunt; and one grandchild.
Justin’s memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the Plains Church located at 102 N. Argonia Road, Argonia. Interment will follow at Argonia Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his loving memory with the Argonia Fire Department in Argonia.
