Why Allen? “I wasn’t initially going to play softball in college, and I wasn’t going to do any recruiting things, but they came and watched one of my regional games last year, and they reached out to me, and I fell in love.”
Major: Physical education.
Favorite memory: “I don’t know if I have a certain favorite memory. I like to hang out with my friends a lot and make those many different memories.”
A little bit more: Gerberding plays outfielder and sometimes shortstop and has been involved in softball for as long as she can remember. In addition to the Indians, she plays on a club team, the Wichita Naturals, and she has played volleyball all four years of high school. Last year, she made the all-league second team for softball. Outside of sports, she is involved in C Club. She is the daughter of Todd and Deirdre Gerberding.
