The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team was held scoreless until the second quarter and never could get on track in a 56-26 loss to the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs last Friday in the season debut for both teams.
Pretty Prairie led the Raiders 13-0 after the first quarter and 35-14 at the intermission. The Bulldogs led 46-20 at the start of the final period.
Brenna Booker led the Raiders with nine points, while Maya Jones added six, Chelsea Coleman and Alyssa Martin each had four and Abigail Harbin finished with three.
Argonia is at the Border Queen Tournament in Caldwell all week. The Raiders faced Central Burden earlier this week, then face Norwich Friday and host Caldwell Saturday. Argonia makes the trip to Cunningham Tuesday.
“We’re looking forward to the tournament games and will look to improve on last Friday’s game against Pretty Prairie,” Argonia coach Dixie Brewster said. “We are adjusting to a six-player roster and game experience will be extra beneficial to our team.”
