A groundbreaking for a new 42,000 square-foot hospital in Caldwell was held on Nov. 4.
Sumner County Hospital District No. 1 (SCHD1) and its board of trustees held the outdoor groundbreaking at the construction site, near U.S. Highway 81 and Greene Road. The ceremony included CEO Brooke Bollman and the board of trustees, along with the hospital’s facility committee, staff members, and representatives of the Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation. Members of the public also were in attendance.
“This is a giant leap for the hospital district,” said hospital CEO Brooke Bollman. “Our state-of-the-art facility will bring advanced technology and expanded services to the Caldwell area for generations to come.”
LK Architecture designed the facility with MKEC serving as civil and structural engineer. Hutton is construction manager at-risk. Construction is expected to last 15 months, though supply chain delays could impact the schedule.
“The new facility provides healthcare vitality and opportunity for economic growth,” said Duane Nulik, chairman of the board of trustees.
The Caldwell Area Hospital and Health Foundation plans to launch a $1.5 million capital campaign to raise money for medical equipment and furnishings.
