William ‘Bill’ Ewing

William Harold “Bill” Ewing, 88, passed away on Oct. 18, 2021, in Cheney.
Bill was born on Nov. 20, 1932, in Frankfort, Kan. He was the second child of five children born to Frank and Cordelia Ewing.
Bill attended numerous grade schools, as the family moved frequently for work. He attended high school in Americus, Kan. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954.
He married Othea Wright in Wichita on June 27, 1955. From this marriage two children were born, Terry Ewing Casley and Harold Wayne Ewing. Sadly, this marriage came to an end.
Bill worked at Cessna Aircraft Company for 39 years, retiring in 1996 as an electrical inspector.
In 1996, Bill married Betty Weaver and they loved to camp, work in the garden and yard. He loved being outside and also watching old westerns.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Cordelia Ewing; his first wife, Othea Ewing; son, Harold W. Ewing; second wife, Betty Ewing; stepson, Johnny Weaver; sister, Wilma Siemens and her husband Delmer Siemens; sister-in-law, Oleta Ewing; and two grandchildren, Katie Lynn Casley and Jacob Weston Casley.
The surviving family includes his daughter, Terry (Rick) Casley, Cheney; step-daughter, Wanda (Harold) Ledford and Ray Weaver, Vinita, Okla.; brothers, Richard (Deloris) Ewing of Furley, Robert Ewing of Wichita, and Butch Ewing, Derby; grandchildren, Shawn and Derrick Casley of Cheney, Jennie O’Neill of Little River, Ron Ledford of Tulsa, Roger (Kelly) Ledford of Chicago, Jennifer (Justin) Turner of rural Vinita, Okla., and Jason (Jennifer) Weaver of rural Vinita; great-grandchildren, Addie and Bo O’Neill of Little River, Ashton (Cameron) Wilson of Oklahoma City, Paisley Ledford of Tulsa, and Jett Turner and Julie Weaver of rural Vinita.
A memorial has been established with the Cheney United Methodist Church building fund.
