HAYSVILLE – Hiro Sushi and Hibachi opened Oct. 7 at 240 N. Main Street in Haysville. The new restaurant has opened in the former location of The Easy Egg.
Restaurant owner Daravanh Harlany originally planned to place a mobile food truck in Haysville when it was suggested to her she open as a restaurant.
“I had planned to bring one of our food trucks here, but I found out this restaurant was available and decided to open here,” said Harlany.
Harlany has her original mobile location in Arkansas. She also has multiple mobile locations in Kansas including a food truck in Coffeyville, El Dorado, and Augusta. She has spent the last 30 years living in Arkansas and plans to relocate to Haysville as soon as she is able.
“I like it better here,” said Harlany.
Harlany said the restaurant had steady business in the first days of opening and is optimistic about the success of her new location.
Hiro Sushi and Hibachi offers multiple sushi options including maki rolls, nigiri, specialty rolls, and deep fried rolls. Fried rice and hawaiian fried rice dishes are available as well as hibachi style meals and yaki soba noodles. The restaurant serves a variety of meats including fish, chicken, beef, and other seafood options. It also serves several vegetarian options.
The restaurant is open seven days a week. It is open Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 12 – 9:30 p.m. A full menu can be viewed on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
