Fall festival adding photo and chili contests

CLEARWATER – There will be a pair of new contests at this year’s Clearwater Fall Festival.
The fall festival committee announced last week that a photography contest and a chili contest will be part of this year’s lineup of activities.
The photo contest will feature a youth category for those age 15 and younger, and an adult category for those 16 and older. Winners will be determined by a community vote. Prints must be 8 inches by 10 inches or smaller, and be in a sheet protector. The pictures will be taped to a wall at Clearwater Elementary East. The entry fee is $2 per photograph. A sign-up link will be posted on the Clearwater Fall Festival’s Facebook page. There will be small monetary prizes.
Chili contestants should be ready to bring six to seven quarts of your best chili to Elementary East on Friday of the festival. A panel of juges will pick the winners. Monetary prizes will be awarded for the top three entries. A Google Docs entry form can be found on the festival’s Facebook page.
