The Argonia Raiders’ Noah Phillips is the South Central Border League javelin champion.
Phillips won gold in the event at the SCBL meet, held last week in Caldwell. The Raiders had 11 placers in different events.
Phillips threw 142-2 to win javelin, while teammate Dalton Morrison was seventh in the event. The AHS boys had two athletes place in every event they placed in. Phillips and Ryder Ragan placed in shot put, while Raider and Morrison did the same in shot put. Damien Smith and Landon Roblin placed in high jump.
Heidi McCurley had the best finish for the girls. She finished second in high jump. The Raiders placed in another jumping event, as Brooke Love took sixth in long jump. Brenna Booker was fifth in javelin.
Argonia will be back at a familiar site for its 1A regional, going to Caldwell on Friday. Field events begin at 3 p.m., and running event preliminaries will be at 4:30 p.m.
