Charles “Chuck” L. Erwin, age 82, retired Boeing transportation employee, U.S. Army and Vietnam War veteran, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2021.
Visitation was 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, with family present 5:30-7 p.m., at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Prairie Trail Cowboy Church, Haysville.
Chuck was born on Saturday, Dec. 3, 1938, in Peck. He was the fourth of five children born to Charles and Frances (Freeman) Erwin. He was united in marriage to Bobby Sue Horton on April 4, 1964, in Lawton, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances (Freeman) Erwin; grandson, Dalen Cox; sisters, Wilma Whitesell, Mary Fleming, Wanda Frost, and Barbara Berger; and parents-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Horton. Survivors include his wife, Bobby Sue; son, Steven (Carla) Erwin of Inola, Okla.; daughter, Stacey Cox of Wichita; grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Ferguson, Jacob (Bonnie) Erwin, Jaylene (Dillon) Hooker; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Anna Marie Hancock of Okmulgee, Okla.
