CLEARWATER – SKT is holding a contest to find the cover photo for its next telephone directory.
The photographer must be an SKT customer with a service address in the Clearwater or Viola area. The entrant’s primary address should be at the service address. For a business customer, the photo must be taken by a current owner or employee.
Photos must be taken in or around Clearwater or Viola. The winning entry must be a high-resolution digital image or a high-quality print image.
Up to three photos may be submitted by each entrant. The deadline for entry is Monday, Feb. 15.
Entries can be sent by email to sktdirectory@sktcompanies.com. Print entries may be mailed to SKT Directory Cover Photo Contest, P.O. Box 800, Clearwater, KS 67026. The office is currently closed, so in-person entries are not allowed.
There is an option for online submission at www.sktc.net.
First prize is $100, second prize is $50, and third prize is $25. The first-place photo will appear on the cover of about 1,500 telephone directories.
Weston Burford, who was a student at Clearwater Middle School last year, was the 2020 winner. He shot a photo of a storm cloud forming over a wheat field on his grandfather’s farm near Viola. Alaina Bates of rural Conway Springs placed second, and Amy Greene of rural Clearwater was third.
