Eileen Stuhlsatz

Eileen A. Stuhlsatz, 93, born Jan. 23, 1927, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Eileen was the school head cook but her true calling in life was to be a homemaker and farm wife. Visitors were always invited to feast at the table of plenty.
On May 11, 1948, Eileen married the love of her life and best friend, Julius Stuhlsatz. Together they celebrated 72 years of marriage. He survives her with sons, Dale (Judy), Chuck, Fred (Tina), all of Garden Plain, and John, Bel Aire; daughters, Janis (Steve) Davis of Olathe, and Kathy (John) Meyer of Wichita; sisters, Dorothy Kerschen, Mary Jane Gerstenkorn; and brother Allen Thimmesch. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Bertha (Kraus) Thimmesch, brother, Mathias Jr. (June), sister, Donna (Tiny) Clasen; daughter-in-law, Louise; and granddaughter, Stacy.
Eileen made sure those experiencing hardship were cared for. She loved her family beyond measure and always had a freezer full of homemade popsicles.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor her with a simple card or a donation to the Garden Plain Senior Center, that would serve her well. Rosary was at 10 a.m, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m., on Jan. 11, both at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Garden Plain.
