John Slate passed away at his home on Christmas Eve.
He was born to Cecil and Marie Slate on June 23, 1962. John was a 1981 graduate of Campus High School. He was a member of the Kansas National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly, who passed away in 2017, and his father, Cecil Slate. He is survived by his mother, Marie Robinson of Mulberry, Kan., seven sisters, Patricia Slate, Mary Dennis, Debbie (David) Presley, Kathy (Terry) Wolf, Sande (Jim) Stroud, Donna (Cliff) Kohler, and Stacy (Jim) Howard; one brother, Sonny (Arita) Slate; step-daughter, Stephaine Tennell; and step-son, Brandon (Paty) Stamps. He had several nieces, nephews, step-grandkids, aunts, uncles, and a brother-in-law, Jefferey (Rebecca) Burris.
