HAYSVILLE – Last Friday, Sedgwick County health officials released the latest list of coronavirus clusters at local nursing homes. Haysville’s Diversicare was among the 14 clusters at long-term care facilities.
There have been 62 clusters at long-term care facilities in the county over the course of the pandemic, accounting for roughly half of 193 deaths in Sedgwick County attributed to the virus.
Diversicare was reported to have 31 cases affecting 25 residents and six staff members. Twelve facilities in Wichita and one in Mount Hope also were on the list. The highest number of cases was 83 at Homestead Health Center, with 55 residents and 28 staff members infected. Chisholm Place, another facility in Wichita, is experiencing its second outbreak.
Previous clusters were reported at facilities in Cheney, Clearwater and Goddard.
