Gloria Ann (Briney) McElroy was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Beloit, Kan., the only child of Lyle Noel Briney and Melva Leone Sherbondy Briney. She attended Rodgers Grade School and Beloit Junior High, and graduated in 1953 from Beloit High School.On Jan. 1, 1956, she married Robert Dale McElroy at the Methodist Church in Beloit.
