The Argonia-Attica Titans will not have a football game this Friday, after their opponent cancelled over coronavirus concerns.

Barber County North USD 254 has cancelled all activities through Oct. 30, which includes this week's Titans' football game against the Medicine Lodge Indians. The Medicine Lodge community has seen an uptick in people with COVID-19 after the past two weeks. The decision was made in conjunction with the Barber County Health Department. An announcement was made Wednesday afternoon.

"We believe this change in our school activities will give us a better chance of continuing face to face instruction," the district said in a statement.

The A&A Titans were unable to schedule a replacement opponent. Friday's game was set to be hosted at Attica High School. The school plans to ahead with the dedication of Vandeveer Field at 6:30 p.m. Friday. That game was set to be the Titans' last Titans' regular-season home game in either Attica or Argonia.

The Titans' next scheduled game is set for Friday, Oct. 23, at the Fairfield Falcons. A&A is atop 8-man Div. I District 5 with a 5-0 record, and are perfect on the season with a 6-0 overall record.

This season's playoff formatting will rely on each team's win-loss percentage in district play (or overall record for schools in 4A, 5A and 6A). The Titans will win their district outright with a win next week at Fairfield, as all five other district teams have losses.

The current district standings through Week 6 are as follows, with district record, overall record, standing points, and then per-game points average:

Argonia-Attica 3-0 | 6-0 | 62 | 20.7

Pretty Prairie 2-1 | 2-4 | 21 | 7.0

Goessel 2-1 | 3-3 | 14 | 4.7

Medicine Lodge 1-2 | 1-4 | -8 | -2.7

Moundridge 1-2 | 2-4 | -26 | -8.7

Fairfield 0-3 | 0-6 | -63 | -21
