HAYSVILLE – The city of Haysville has a pool of grant funds available for small businesses impacted by COVID-19.

The city has received $120,000 in CDBG-CV funds that it can disburse to businesses located in Haysville. The funding originated out of the CARES Act, and was channeled down from the federal to the state and then the local level.

Haysville is now taking applications for two levels of grant funding: Up to $10,000 for small businesses with up to five employees; and up to $15,000 for businesses with six to 50 employees. The focus is on businesses with low to moderate income employees.

“If a local business is interested, the most important thing is to just get the application filled out to the best of your ability,” said Zach McHatton, director of economic development for the city of Haysville. “We will help correct applications where needed. You just need to get your foot in the door.”

The deadline to turn in applications is Friday, Oct. 16. Applications can be found on the city’s website, www.haysville-ks.com. For more information, call McHatton at 316-529-5909.

Completed applications can be hand-delivered to City Hall or the Economic Development office located in the historic Vickers Building. Applications can be mailed to City Hall, or emailed to McHatton, zmchatton@haysville-ks.com.
