Kwik Shop in Goddard reopens after COVID closure

Editor's note: Kwik Shop in Goddard was reopened by midweek after this closure, which went into effect on Sunday morning, Oct. 4.

GODDARD – The Kwik Shop location in Goddard closed for a few days at the beginning of this week after an employee tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The store closed at 9 a.m. Sunday. The company was bringing in an industrial cleaning crew to clean and sanitize the store.

It is expected to be open again after a few days.

The company announced the reason for the closure on Monday morning.

“We are taking all appropriate steps following guidance from local health officials,” the company said in a statement. “We are grateful to all our customers for your patience and understanding during this time.

Team members were notified and advised to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control.

Another location, near 21st Street North and Webb Road in northeast Wichita, closed last week on Wednesday for cleaning after a positive coronavirus case there.
