HAYSVILLE – COVID-19 continues to be a party pooper.
The Party in the 060 has become the latest community event in south-central Kansas called off because of the pandemic. The springtime event should have taken place in April, but much of the state was shut down in the early stages of the pandemic. The party had been rescheduled to Aug. 15.
Now with cases spiking in Sedgwick County and elsewhere in Kansas, organizers at the City of Haysville have decided to call off the event for 2020.
“We are very disappointed that we have had to cancel but are looking forward to next year. Thanks and everyone stay safe and healthy and we will get through this year,” they wrote in a statement.
Party in the 060 is just the latest local event to be cancelled in 2020. Major events such as the Wichita River Festival and Kansas State Fair were cancelled, as were community events like the Haysville and Conway Springs fall festivals and county fairs in Sedgwick and Sumner counties.
