Obituary: Ralph Struthers

Ralph E. Struthers, age 97, of Clearwater, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was born on Jan. 13, 1923, to Ralph (RD) and Rosa Struthers of Clearwater.

Ralph was born and reared on his family farm north of Clearwater. He graduated from Clearwater High School in 1941. As third generation, he lived his whole life on the farm where he grew wheat and milo and raised cattle and hogs. Farming was important to Ralph and he was a hard worker. Ralph was also a family man. He taught his children how to run tractors, fix machinery and complete chores on the farm, but most of all, how to work hard. He was very proud of his family and never shied away from bragging on them.

He is survived by his wife, Denzel of the home; sons, Dean Struthers of Winfield, Earl (Fran) Struthers of Viola, Jack (Kelly) Burkholder of Wichita, and Jonas (Tiffany) Struthers of Clearwater; daughters, Lois Struthers of Clearwater, Gloria Conner of Winfield, Denise (Barry) Burkholder of Towanda, Maria Struthers of Clearwater, Sara (Dennis) Schmidt of Douglass, Faith (Charley) McNelley of Clearwater, and Crystal (Kyle) Hough of Wichita; brother, John Struthers of Clearwater; nephew, Wes (Vickie) Struthers of Clearwater; niece, Lynette (Ray) Koch of Clearwater; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends in and around Clearwater.

Due to the current circumstances in the world, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Baker Funeral Home of Wichita was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Clearwater, 524 E Wood, Clearwater, KS 67026.
