GP city council to meet via Zoom

The Garden Plain City Council will hold its monthly meeting as scheduled on Wednesday, April 1.

However, the meeting will be conducted online using the Zoom hosting platform.

Even with county- and state-issued stay-at-home orders in effect, Kansas cities, counties and school boards must still hold meetings that are open to the public.

People wanting to listen to the Garden Plain City Council meeting can log in at https://zoom.us/j/114107810.

The Kansas Open Meetings Act requires governing bodies to be transparent and that meetings be open to the public to watch. KOMA does not guarantee a right to speak to governing bodies during those meetings.

The agenda for the meeting will be available on the city website at www.gardenplain.com. A report on the meeting will appear in the April 9 print edition of The Times-Sentinel.
