Obituary: Mary Louise Stockhaus

Mary Louise Stockhaus, age 91, of Clearwater, retired USD 264 custodian, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. Graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Clearwater Cemetery.
Mary Louise Stockhaus was born on Sunday, Sept. 23, 1928, in Bethpage, Mo. She was the only child born to her parents, George Russell Brock and Bessie Collings Brock. She received her elementary education in Bethpage and moved with her family to Neosho, Mo., in 1940. She was a 1946 graduate of Neosho High School.
In 1947, she moved to Wichita, where she later met her future husband, Karl Emil Stockhaus. They were united in marriage on May 14, 1955, in Wichita. They made their home in Wichita until 1967. At that time, they moved to their new home in Clearwater.
Louise was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, working part-time as a custodian for USD 264 from 1970 to 1983. She began working full-time in 1983, retiring in 1993.
Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clearwater. Traveling and square dancing were her two favorite pastimes.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Karl; and parents, George and Bessie (Collings) Brock. Survivors include her sons, Steven (Jevlyn) Stockhaus, Jay Stockhaus, both of Clearwater; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Jackson of Wichita; grandchildren, Lance Stockhaus, Marissa Holliman and Alex Jackson; and great-grandchild, Pyper Stockhaus.
