Man killed in industrial accident; victim identified

A man was killed in an industrial accident at Youngers and Sons Manufacturing Company on Wednesday, July 31.
The man has been identified as Zachary C. Ritchey of Wellington.
According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Youngers and Sons machine shop, located about a mile southwest of Clonmel on K42, at approximately 2:34 p.m. Ritchey, a 56-year-old white man, was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later.
Ritchey was an employee of a company that does maintenance for Youngers and Sons. He became trapped in a machine he was working on, the sheriff’s office said.
“A very unfortunate incident occurred today at Youngers and Sons,” a statement on the business’s website said. “Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.”
