Obituary: Nora Page

Nora B. Page, 76, of Conway Springs, formerly of LaHarpe, Kan., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs.
She was born March 17, 1942, at Humphrey, Ark., to Joseph William and Lillie Mae (McFarland) Criner. She was one of seven children. Nora attended many schools as her father was a rural school teacher in Arkansas. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1959.
Nora enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where she was stationed for two years in the Philippines during the Vietnam era. She was honorably discharged in January 1964.
Nora was united in marriage to Claude Wayne Whitaker in April 1964. They made their home in El Centro, Calif.
Nora later married Vernon Eugene Page on Feb. 6, 1979, at Miami, Okla. They moved to Oklahoma City in January of 1982. They returned to Conway Springs in 1987 and to Wichita in 1988. Nora worked in the aircraft industry in sheet-metal. She worked at Boeing Aircraft, Learjet, Cessna and later retired from Beech Aircraft in 1993. The couple moved and built a new home at LaHarpe that same year. Vernon died on August 15, 2009. Nora later moved to Conway Springs and made her home with her sister-in-law, Donna Page.
Nora was a member of the Christian Church, Moran, Kan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Lester, Joe, William and Gerald Criner; two sisters: Nellie and Evelyn; a daughter, Pamela Fry; one infant daughter; and one granddaughter.
Nora is survived by one son, Terry Burns of Neodesha, Kan.; two sisters-in-law: Donna Page of Conway Springs and Marilyn Page of Iola; many grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, in Conway Springs Cemetery, with Chaplain Rocky Schmied, officiating. Interment followed in Conway Springs Cemetery. Ebersole Mortuary, Conway Springs was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences and guest book are available at
