Obituary: Margie McClurg

Marjorie J. McClurg, 69 of Wichita, formerly of Conway Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born July 14, 1949, in Wellington to Loman Orn McCammon and Mildred Dorothy (Hardesty) McCammon. Margie grew up in the Conway Springs community and attended Conway Springs public schools. She attended Conway Springs High School and graduated with the class of 1967.
She was united in marriage to Jack Lee Solter, Jr., in 1972, and their family was blessed with three daughters, Michelle, Jennifer and Josie. They made their home in the Conway Springs community.
Margie later married Mark Steven McClurg on June 20, 1988, at the United Methodist Church, Conway Springs.
Margie worked in key punch for Friends University and also in food preparation at Spring View Manor in Conway Springs. She later worked as a mail clerk in the Sedgwick County Courthouse before retiring due to failing health.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gary, Gale and Darrel McCammon; and one infant daughter, Meagan Solter. Survivors include her husband, Mark McClurg of Wichita; three daughters, Shelly Ravenstien and husband Rick, Jennifer Solter, and Josie Luna and husband Paul; her step-children, Colleen McClurg-Hall and Mark McClurg, Jr., all of Wichita; one brother, Kenneth McCammon of Arlington, Wash.; two sisters, Marilyn Lynn of Venice, Fla., and Connie McCammon of Conway Springs; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church, Conway Springs, with the Rev. Bryce Hansen officiating. Interment followed in Conway Springs Cemetery, Conway Springs.
