Obituary: Shannon Hancock

Shannon M. Hancock, 48, formerly of Viola, Wichita and Conway Springs, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita.
Shannon was born June 22, 1970, in Wichita, the daughter of Leslie Wayne Hancock and Valerie Ann (Porter). She attended school in Conway Springs at St. Joseph Catholic School and Conway Springs public schools. She later attended Campus High School in Haysville, where she graduated with the class of 1990.
Shannon had lived in Wichita, Conway Springs and Wellington, before moving to Maize in September 2017.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Shannon is survived by her parents, Valerie (Louis) St. Clair of Wichita, and Les Hancock of Conway Springs; siblings, Shawn Hancock of Augusta, Rachael Hancock of Wichita, and Aaron Hancock of Kingman; her grandmother, JoAnn Clum of Conway Springs; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Schulte, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer as celebrant. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, also at the church. Interment will be in Peotone Cemetery, Viola.
