Obituary: Eileen Andra

Eileen T. Andra, 87, of Conway Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at Via Christi-St. Teresa, Wichita.
Eileen was born March 21, 1931. at Colwich, to Nicholas Albert Freund and Adelheid Laurine (Dold) Freund. She attended elementary school in Colwich and later attended Andale High School, where she graduated with the class of 1949.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Edward Andra on July 11, 1949, at Andale. They made their home in the Conway Springs area their entire married life. They moved into town in 1959 and made their home at 120 S. Fifth Street. Elmer died on June 16, 1998. Eileen later moved to 118 W. Wichita in 2004. She had been a resident of the Mount Hope Nursing Center since April.
Eileen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, and the Altar Society.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four children, Dale, Joan, Gary and Joseph Andra; one brother, Edwin “Ducky” Freund; two sisters, Millie Addis and Patsy Freund; and one grandson, Paul McDonough.
Eileen is survived by two sons, Michael Andra and wife, Tina, of Wichita and Ronald Andra of Conway Springs; one daughter, Julie McDonough, and husband, Sean, of Clearwater; one sister, Delores Freund of Mount Hope; grandchildren, Chad Andra and wife, Jennifer, of Conway Springs, Jarrod Andra of Wichita, Aaron Andra of Haven, Nathan McDonough of Clearwater, and Abigail and Kadiance McDonough of Clearwater; great-grandchildren, Colby, Ava and Amelia Andra, all of Wichita; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Mount Hope Nursing Center for all of their special care for Eileen.
Vigil Service was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, and Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway Springs, with Father Stuart M. Smeltzer as Celebrant and Father Thomas Hoisington as Concelebrant. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conway Springs.
