Conway Springs Fall Fest 2018 is fast approaching

Conway Springs Fall Fest 2018 will be held Sept. 20-23. This year’s theme is “Space and Beyond 2018.”

New this year, USD 356 plans to host a tennis tournament for Conway Springs alumni coaches and players on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The tournament will be held at the school district’s new, six-court complex. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and play begins at 9 a.m.

Events include a men’s doubles tournament and a women’s doubles tournament. Both will have divisions for those under and over age 35.

The event also includes a short ceremony to dedicate the new tennis complex, as well as prizes. Drinks will be provided for all participants.

If you’re not already in training, plan on taking part in the 2-mile fun run and walk. Now also is the time to start planning your entry in the annual Fall Fest parade.
Arts & crafts, food and business booths, and food trucks, will be at the park on Saturday. There are still spaces available for booths, food concessions, displays, demonstrations, and activities. To reserve a space, stop by the city building for a booth form or contact Janie Rausch at 620-456-2973.

Button sales are now underway at area businesses. Sales of buttons help underwrite the cost of many Fall Fest events, and is your ticket for the annual Chamber of Commerce barbecue on Saturday evening during Fall Fest.

Live entertainment is featured all day Saturday at the Bandshell in the park. Fireworks and a street dance follow the Chamber of Commerce barbecue and entertainment. Fall Fest buttons are now on sale in local businesses.
