Obituary: Sherry Phillips

Sherry Lynn Phillips, age 69, passed away in her home in Yuma, Ariz. on July 14, 2018. She went peacefully, lying next to her loving husband of 26 years, Jerry Phillips.
Sherry was born on Oct. 22, 1948, in Worland, Wyo. to Dick and Carmen Cornelison. She had an unquestionable love for North Park, where she participated in Old Timer’s as a server in 1953 and continued to help until 2016. She enjoyed reading, dancing, traveling, playing cards and, of course, time spent with family.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Phillips; three children, Laural (Joe) Sladek of Michigan, Jeff (Melissa) Bradley of Colorado, and Kelly (Lisa) Bradley of Michigan; three stepchildren, Jeff (Jeani) Phillips of Texas, Jeannette Phillips of Colorado, and Bryan (Lorenza) Phillips of Utah; her brother, Rick Cornelison of Colorado; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Carmen Cornelison; brother, Willy Cornelison; stepson, Brad Phillips; and great-grandson, Lane Wood.
She will be remembered for her impressive owl collection, her many contributions to North Park, and her sassy but sweet personality.
Celebration of Life services are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Sherry’s name to the North Park Pioneer Museum in Walden, Colo.
