Obituary: Evelyn Kletchka Jacobs

Evelyn Kletchka (Orth) Jacobs, 94, was born Sept. 20, 1923, to Arthur and Lena Orth (Ewertz).

Evelyn was a LPN, retired after 33 years. She worked seven years for St. Francis Hospital and 26 years for the Adorers of the Blood of Christ Convent. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, dancing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Sylvester Kletchka; her husband of 16 years, Henry Jacobs; her parents; her son, Wayne Kletchka; brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Arthur and Lawrence; and sisters, Alvina Peters, Sister Lorene ASC, and Mildred Orth. She is survived by her sister, Madeline Robinson; children, Sandra Dicus and Bonnie McDaniel; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing was held April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, with a rosary 30 minutes prior to the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
