Jack D. “Dutch” Brewer, 77, long-time Milton/Norwich area resident, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home in Norwich.
Dutch was born Aug. 21, 1940, at Milton to Carl and Helen (Gawthrop) Brewer. He grew up in the Milton community and attended the Milton schools. He graduated from Milton High School with the class of 1958 before continuing his education at Hutchinson Junior College.
Dutch was married to Rosemary (Hibbs) Robertson for 10 years and was blessed with the addition of her two children into his life. The family made their home southwest of Suppesville, where Dutch farmed and ranched in the area most of his life.
Dutch was a member of the Milton Baptist Church, Milton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, J.D. “Jake” Brewer.
Dutch is survived by one step-daughter, Stephanie Foley, and one step-son, Aaron Robertson, both of Cheney; his grandchildren, Cassidy and Sam Foley; his sister-in-law, Sharon Brewer and her family, John, Debbie and Susan, all of Garden City; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Milton Baptist Church, Milton, with Pastor Mike Justice officiating. Interment was in Eden Cemetery, Milton.
