Aileen (Maher) Lauterbach, age 88, of Clearwater, retired USD 264 lunch lady and president of the Clearwater Historical Museum, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017.
Visitation was 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, with family present 5:30-7 p.m. at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at First Christian Church in Clearwater.
Aileen was born on Thursday, Jan. 10, 1929, in Ellsworth to her parents, William Alfred Maher and Ruth Helen (Lewick) Maher. She was united in marriage to Jack Herbert Lauterbach on Aug. 12, 1947, in Conway Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth (Lewick) Maher; husband, Jack H. Lauterbach; and great-grandchildren, Markel and Audrey. Survivors include her daughters, Cecelia Costello, Cyndy Moody, Sue (Warren) Sallee, all of Wichita, and Nancy Lauterbach of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Virginia Roberts of Wichita; two granddaughters she raised, Michelle Edwards of Wellington, and Jennifer Cheney of Wichita; grandchildren, Teresa Morrison, Mark Denham, Taylor Moody, Chaundra Moody, Justin Kessinger, Jeffrey Kessinger and Nikita Craig-Lauterbach; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
