Obituary: Clinton ‘Cleo’ Ray

Clinton “Cleo” Ray, age 90, of Clearwater, retired Cessna Aircraft Mechanic, World War II Army veteran, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26. Graveside service was at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Milan Cemetery.

Cleo was born on Monday, July 18, 1927, in rural Milan, Kan., to Clarence Cleo Ray and Alta Bertha Bingham Ray. He was united in marriage to Joy Sue Pace on April 24, 1953, in Argonia.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alta (Bingham) Ray; siblings, Bonnie Langford, Dixie Kalivoda and Melvin Ray; and grandson, Casey Joe Ray. Survivors include his wife, Sue Ray; children, Aleta Allen and companion, Michael Kretzer of San Antonio, Monty and Gail Ray of Clearwater, and Brent and Sheila Ray of Valley Center; siblings, Roger Ray of Milan, Max Ray of Paris, Texas, Billie June Whaley of Perth, and Joyce Jones of Cheney; grandchildren, Monica, Toni, and Josie Ray, Justin, Michael, and Stephanie Allen and Jackie Ray; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alyssa Kennedy.
