A man from the Murdock area learned you shouldn’t throw cellular phones at police vehicles.
John Albert was arrested on Aug. 21 for disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer, and interference with an officer, and was transported to the Sedgwick County Jail. He has since been charged in Cheney Municipal Court, and has been released on bond.
“The officer was just driving down the street,” said Chief Ken Winter. “He (Albert) just picked him at random and threw his cell phone as hard as he could at the side of the patrol car.”
“That doesn’t happen every day in Cheney,” Winter added.
