Robert Dale Stephens was born to Albert and Mary Ann (Ditzen) Stephens on Feb. 11, 1925, on a farm at Milan. He died July 7, 2017, at Spring View Manor, Conway Springs. Robert was 92 years old.
His schooling included Frog Pond, Argonia High School, and one year at Kansas State University. After being turned down for military service, he began his aircraft career at the Anthony Airport. He then moved to Wichita, where he was employed by Boeing (rocket program) and Beechcraft, and retired from Cessna.
His hobbies included building two planes and one glider.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Jim Strader, and Rozella Johnson; and one nephew, Jim Strader II.
He is survived by one brother, Melvin, and his wife Joyce of Argonia; brother-in law, Martin Johnson of Wichita; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
