Glenn Genteman passed on Monday, July 3, 2017, at his home in Harper at the age of 98.
Henry Glenn Alfred Genteman was born the son of William Henry and Vernet Elizabeth (Horton) Genteman on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1919 in Argonia.
On Feb. 3, 1946, Glenn and Elsie Mae Lowrey were united in marriage in Norwich. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing in 2006. Glenn served his country in the United States Army during World War II, and upon returning became a longtime farmer.
Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Young and her husband Allen of Wichita; grandchildren, Natalie Young and Quentin Young, both of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Shelley Genteman of Valejo, Calif.; granddaughter, Amber Genteman Janssen and her husband Alex of Napa Valley, Calif.; and great-granddaughter, Athena Mae Janssen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Roger Genteman; and three sisters.
Graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 7, in the Floyd Memorial Chapel at Argonia Cemetery, Argonia.
A memorial fund has been established in his loving memory to Meals on Wheels of Harper, Kan. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
