The City of Conway Springs has a new interim police chief…still.
In a special meeting on Monday, June 19, city council members voted 4-0 to name Landon Wiseley as interim police chief. Council member Janet Wiseley, Landon’s mother, abstained from the vote.
Wiseley has been acting as interim chief since police chief Kelly Zellner resigned.
During the meeting, Mayor Dan Doffing said he had been prepared to appoint Glen Mallam, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy, as the city’s new chief.
“The person I was going to appoint pulled out,” Doffing said, adding that Mallam had withdrawn himself from consideration on Monday, June 19.
