Neal T. Bilson, 72, of 209 W. Kansas Ave., died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Wichita.
Neal was born July 20, 1944, in Wichita to Paul Hayden Bilson and Florence Idelia (Mackey) Bilson, one of 15 children. He grew up in the Eureka, Kan., area, and attended school at Eureka. Neal enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Feb. 1, 1962, where he served his country for the next three years.
Following his honorable discharge on July 20, 1965, Neal worked at Champion Homes in Wellington in the construction of mobile homes.
He was united in marriage to Necia Kaye Creed on June 30, 1967 at Conway Springs. They made their home in Conway Springs at 209 W. Kansas Ave., where they raised their two children: Maria and Brock.
Neal later worked as an assembler in the aircraft industry for Cessna, Boeing and Spirit. He retired in 2009. Necia died on Dec. 2, 2011.
Neal was a member of American Legion Post #90, Wellington.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Marjorie Green, Leland Bilson, Judy Bilson and Donald Bilson.
Neal is survived by one daughter, Maria Bilson, and one son, Brock Bilson, both of Wichita; 10 siblings, Dewight Bilson of Grants Pass, Ore., Norman Bilson of Leon, Kan., Eugene Bilson of Monroe, Ore., Janice Friedman of Lomita, Calif., Elwyn Bilson, Paulette Porter, Barbara Lutt and Anne Bilson, all of El Dorado, Dennis Bilson of Wimberley, Texas; and John Bilson of Wichita; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at the First Christian Church, Conway Springs, with Pastor Kit Berry officiating.
Interment was in Austin Cemetery, Anson.
